Seven inches of snow and single digit temps closed Sandhills golf courses for a WEEK! So, we went inside for C&C at Champion Auto Spa in So. Pines. Host Anthony Carubba put on a great tech session on ceramic paint protection coatings. He also demonstrated a new product called 1051; a hybrid ceramic which bridges the gap between a hard ceramic and PPF (Paint Protection Film). It was impressive and has a 10 year life.
Anthony also discussed windshield protection. Most of us are familiar with the multi-layer tare off products used on track, but not suitable for daily street use. Now, Xpel has a new single layer product that is getting good reviews for street cars.
Monthly dinner meetings continue to draw nice groups at Table On The Green in Pinehurst on the fourth Tuesday each month.Members and friends generously support our dinner raffles. And, with help from Porsche Greensboro, we have donated $50,000 over the past fourteen years to Sandhills Community College Foundation and other local charities. A Sandhills Area event is being planned at the college in August to celebrate our scholarship and endowment success.Marty Barrett - Sandhills Area Director
